Trevalon Community Supported Agriculture Scheme
Guided tour of Trevalon, Sunday 10th January 2010. 12noon to 2pm, lunch provided. Another chance to look round Trevalon and see what is available. The core group will be here so this is a chance to talk to them and put forward your ideas so we can start to develop a plan. If you can't attend but would like to have an input please email your ideas.
Visit to Harrowbarrow CSA, near Callington, Monday 11th January, 11am till 3pm, near Callington. Networking event organised but the Soil Association. This event is now fully booked, five of us are attending this event and will hopefully make some useful contacts and learn more about how CSA's work.
Core group business meeting. Friday 15th January, 10.30am till 3.30pm. As part of the support offered by the National Lottery funded Making Local Food Works, Trevalon has access to four days business advice, with a trained business advisor and facilitator who will guide the core group through the process of creating a joint vision and producing a business plan.
This is the first of those meetings. It is not too late to get involved is you would like to be part of the core group. As a follow up to this meeting we hope to begin a consultation process with customers.
Visit to Stroud CSA. Funding has been approved by the Federation of City farms and Community gardens to take a mini bus to Stroud CSA, to see how this long established CSA works, if you are interested in attending please let us know.
National Lottery Local Food Fund. Last August Trevalon submitted an application to fund the expansion of community involvement, construct a packing barn and meeting space, expand the vegbox delivery and deliver training and education events. The application was for £238 000 over five years. We have now passed the first stage of the process and have been invited to develop our application and submit a second stage application.
This is an exiting development and will give an opportunity to the newly forming CSA to work together on a common vision with a real possibility of being able to access funding.
For more information on all of the above please visit www.trevalon.co.uk and follow the links to the Trevalon Facebook page for the latest news, events and discussion.
