First frost

This week has seen temperatures drop. We spent Monday and Tuesday covering beetroot, chard, spinach and lettuce with protective fleece in a effort to stop frost damage. Not expecting them to survive the cold snap we have now picked the last of the runner beans and cucumbers and have started clearing the last polytunnel ready for planting with module grown salads.

This week we will be sowing in the propogation tunnel, more oriental salads to be transplanted into polytunnel No5 (under construction), Spring greens and cabbage (for harvesting late spring, broad beans for planting out in one months time and peas for transplanting into the polytunnel for an spring crop.

Website back on-line

After months of being busy with the planning public inquiry and being too busy to update it, I have now retrieved the lost passwords for the Trevalon Blog and have started posting again. So to view the latest information and look at photographs of Trevalon go to www.trevalon.blogspot.com.

The first Saturday of each month, there is a regular opportunity to come and help out at Trevalon. Please bring gloves and pruning tools if you have any. Tea, coffee, bread and soup will be provided plus a fire to to keep you warm.
